Clamshell Gauntlet Patterns

Now you can buy Patterns for the above pictured Clamshell Gauntlets to make a set of your own. These Gauntlets have been very popular over the years, and provide really good protection for rattan combat. You can build the gauntlets with the solid thumb as shown; patterns are also included for seperate articulated thumbs, so you can build them that way too. The patterns you will receive are photocopied onto several sheets of paper, which you can trace onto cardboard for use in your shop. There are some instructions and notations written onto the pattern pieces to help you with building the gauntlets. The Gauntlet Patterns are sized for the average adult male, but with some adjustment/experimentation on a photocopier you can change the size to what you need. Experience has shown that this pattern will fit a good many people, and often times simply using one lame less or more on the fingertip area will do the job for sizing.
